I'm a tutor who loves learning, loves teaching, and utilizes an approach that is patient, amicable, and determined. I have four years of experience as a writing tutor at the college level, where I helped students develop writing skills and essays in a wide range of subjects. I focused on philosophy and English literature as an undergraduate, and I developed strong skills for close reading and logic. When I tutor students, I feel that I must get them engaged and learning. We don't just read or try to memorize things. Instead, my sessions encourage open communication and fun. I believe every student can achieve success in learning, and I believe that fun is one of the most important ways to ensure that happens. When students are interested in a topic, they become more engaged and more motivated to learn it. I encourage my students to find their own topics of interest in things that they want to learn. My goal is to help students succeed, and I know that their goal is success as well. I believe with determination and hard work, students can be successful. I'm looking forward to helping students learn to write better essays, gain a command of English grammar and syntax, and understand literature.
